headlander festival have asked scruff of the neck records to curate their own stage for this year’s event on saturday 20th and sunday 21st june at stockport rufc in bramhall. Scruff of the Neck have been brought into the Headlander family with the aim of bringing their talents for unearthing the best emerging talent from various UK regions and also facilitating high quality productions in their own right. Confirmed in their first wave of artists are two of Manchester’s leading emerging artists The Slow Readers Club and Feed The Kid.
Described as the “mini Glastonbury” of the North, Headlander boasts a lineup of great music and activities in a safe and friendly setting. The event coincides with the summer solstice as the sun reaches it’s highest point in the sky. Already confirmed on the main stage are Roachford who had the late 80’s top 10 hit “Cuddly Toy” and From The Jam featuring original Jam member Bruce Foxton.
There will be a plethora of genres on show to create a true festival atmosphere with a blend of rock, folk, bluegrass, ska, jazz, world music and singer songwriters meaning 2015 will be the most entertaining festival so far. There are also other amenities available which make the event great for a family day out including; NK Theatre Arts Shows, Foolish Rogues, Wild Things Soft Play Area (for under 10s), Break Dancers and a Fun Fair.
