To celebrate an amazing 5 years and to thank you all for your support, Northern Quarter's most illustrious drinking den The Blue Pigis throwing a massive party with live music feat the brilliant Twisted Tubesbrass outfit, The Soul Clique DJs and the chance to sample our brand new cocktail menu. We'd love for you to join us, so come and celebrate all things Piggy on Thursday 27th October; the party kicks off at 7pm, so get here early and have a drink on us!Everyone is welcome; bring a friend or three along for the ride.

LIVE MUSIC feat TWISTED TUBES

These guys will blow your socks off! Hailing from Manchester, Twisted Tubes are a genre-bending, explosive brass outfit. Blending Dancehall, Hip-Hop and straight up Funk, the Tubes’ sound defies conventional Brass collectives, with their full Latin percussion section and 3 piece sax section allowing musical expansion way beyond what you’ve heard before. 

Drawing influence from the likes of Jill Scott, Snarky Puppy, Stevie Wonder, Robert Glasper and Hiatus Kaiyote, Tubes maintains their unique sound despite tearing through a multitude of soundscapes and genres. This exploratory, relentless style allows for collaborations with singers and EDM artists, and 2016 sees collaborations with Jenna G and Dave McCabe of the Zutons, with their Debut EP scheduled for release at the end of the year. Summer 2017 will see their first festival tour of the UK and Europe.

Piggy’s brand new Friday resident JONNA (City Fly Records, Shadeleaf Music, R2, TheSoulClique) will be bringing TheSoulClique DJs for a night of superlative soul tunes. 

Jonna is a DJ, producer, one of the label owners of City Fly Records, and now the superb new Blue Pig Friday resident DJ, covering an eclectic mix of House, Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz… basically any music with Soul. 

His first sold out artist EP dropped early 2016 on ‘Shadeleaf Music’ with support by heavyweights Recloose, Jimpster & Osunlade and backing from BBC6 Music to name a few.
Jonna has also been one of the driving forces behind City Fly Records & helping it grow from a small club night into a global record label ‘championing the best in house music', releasing music from the likes of DJ Nature, Fred P, Andres, Kez YM, Simbad, Lay-Far, Red Rack'em and Basic Soul Unit, and releases by Tim Toh & Kez YM both received DJ Mag’s highest rated ‘Money Shot’ house releases in 2015.
