Tuesday 12th March, from 17.45 (or whenever you can escape work)
You know we love a good comic based film here at FoodnFilm but we have noticed it can be somewhat male heavy in terms of fighting evil on the big screen. We're pleased to see the MCU is finally catching up to DCs "Wonder Woman" and giving us our first female focused Marvel comic film.
Marvel Studios' “Captain Marvel” follows the journey of Carol Danvers (and her cat, Goose) as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes. Captain Marvel gets caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
As we push into a more progressive future, despite some minor niggles, we can all agree that representation, inclusion and diversity are key to success. We have a speaker that champions, and is in fact an Ambassador for, many underrepresented communities. Speaking to our attendees we have local influencer, Charlie Hooson-Sykes.
Charlie is currently an Ambassador for YMCA and Doves "Be Real" campaign. She has also supports LGBT+ causes and participated in Manchester Pride Parade for several years. She'll be talking to us on why representation matters and how you can embrace being an ally to those who don't have a platform for their voices into your work and life, without accusations of "tokenism".
Standard tickets are £25 (plus those pesky booking fees we are afraid) or just £15 if you have an Odeon Limitless Card (you will both need to be Limitless members to qualify for 2-4-1).
As always, should our selection of movies not tickle your fancy but you still want to network with like-minded film fanatics, then take advantage of our #Flexi option and swap your ticket for any other movie being screened at the same time. Our top alternative picks are:
- Beautiful Boy
- Glass
Your ticket(s) will get you:
Loads of tasty food (notify us of any dietary requirements)
Networking with liked-minded people of awesomeness
Your cinema ticket to watch the movie of your choice
Your own popcorn because we share business and ideas, not food
Plus, £1 from every ticket will go to our lovely friends at Forever Manchester to do a whole host of good things with, so you can feel good whilst you get your movie on. You can find out more about them by clicking the handy link above.
As always, thanks to our sponsors: BLM Law, Xentum, KlicknTap and now also, Clarke Nicklin LLP
