Hit Squad Halloween Special

This Halloween at Independent we have a special spooky show from Sunderland’s infamous musical fundraising group @stocktonroadhitsquad.

Having spent the last 18 months raising donations and awareness for local music charity @thebunkercic, the Hit Squad are back on Independent’s big stage, teaming up with The Bunker in a fundraising effort to offer support, guidance, and resources for local musicians experiencing mental health-related illness.

Poor mental health can impact all of us, with those working in the music/entertainment industry navigating specific challenges and pressures. In the last year alone we have experienced the devastating loss of several much-loved members of our music community through depression and suicide. This has prompted us to create a dedicated mental health support service for our local music scene.

The Bunker will now facilitate a retainer of paid counselling hours with a local care specialist, available to musicians and industry professionals aged 16+ experiencing psychosis or going through times of crisis. Your generosity will help us build our first bank of support hours, and collaborate on a joint strategy to educate our community about risk areas of the live music lifestyle.

The Hit Squad have put together a spooktacular lineup of local musicians for this Halloween fundraiser, many who are hotly tipped by BBC Introducing and Mercury Fringe. They’ll be tributing some classic names from Rock and Pop, with a few surprises thrown in here and there for those who like a touch of theatre…

Tickets are on sale now at just £10, with every penny raised going towards mental health support for local musicians. There’s a limited number of free tickets available for those who would like to attend but can not afford, please get in touch if you’d like one of these tickets, no one turned away due to lack of funds.
