The Leeds Mela is back for 2021!
The word 'Mela' comes from Sanskrit. Meaning 'gathering' or 'to meet', it is used for all types of cultural and sporting events.
This one-day festival celebrates the food, music, arts and crafts of South Asia, and showcases both local and homegrown talent and rising stars on the main stage, with music and visual arts from around Yorkshire.
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample delicious street food and drink from the various regions of South Asia and beyond in the Global Food Village.
There will be a funfair on-site to keep the kids entertained, as well as a shopping village and an arts and crafts tent.
International cuisine - Delicious market stalls and food hubs will be serving the sights, scents, and spice with authentic cuisine throughout the day.
Music - Expect first-class entertainment from local and international musicians, bhangra dancers & dhol drummers, steel drums & samba bands throughout the day.
Arts - Glitter stations, face painting, and henna artists mean that there’s something for everyone.
