For our summer edition of Blue Jay Live, we're hosting an open jam, and at the same time bringing you a very special headline guest - MUKUZA!
Mukuza, a soulful artist from North London, delivers R&B-inspired grooves infused with jazz and poetic vulnerability. Idolising Michael Jackson as a child, he found solace in music during his teenage years, using it as therapy to navigate challenges. With performances at Islington Assembly Hall and features on BBC Radio 1, his 2019 EP, Pray First, Prey Later, captures a transformative journey from pain to hope. Known for uplifting messages and raw honesty, Mukuza creates a healing space for fans seeking motivation, positivity, and connection through art.
Indy Newland is a 'genre-defying' upcoming hip-hop artist from Brixton, sharing his experiences as a trans man through music. Dealing with themes of love, resilience and authenticity, his style infuses classic Hiphop with vintage Soul, Jazz and RnB. His singing is styled upon the likes of Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse, while listing Tyler the Creator, Mac Miller and Kendrick Lamar as his core rap influences.
Jaiye means 'enjoy life' in Yoruba, and that’s exactly what she brings to the music. Her sound was born in jam sessions and is forever evolving. It’s free, raw, and full of feeling. Mixing improvisation with songs that are shaped from real moments, every set is a journey. Soulful, playful and intentional. Jaiye's music invites you in, gets you feeling and leaves you lifted. Her debut single Upside Down is on the way and this is just the beginning!
We will also be hosting a talented lineup on house band - follow @bluejay_live on instagram for all updates and more info.
