Music fans have been hot on the heels of London indie rockers Blush since they released the brilliantly catchy “Daggers” a little under a year ago. Having only existed for a year, you might be forgiven for thinking that the Essex-based quartet to be another case of hype machine fever. But if their latest single “Crying Glitter” is anything to go by, the band won’t be fading away too fast.

Having a hint of influence from The Strokes, their sounds are bluesy, and it's a battle between vivacious rock sounds and pouring emotion. Released via Rough Trades’ sister label, End of the Trail Records, “Crying Glitter” is a rush of emotive, anthemic indie rock from the forgotten late 2000s. Lead singer, Ben’s vocals are raw and enticing; relaxing but also hard-hitting. “Crying Glitter” has a catchy repeated line that will stick in your head and Blush seemed to have arrived at precisely the right moment when we, and the music industry, could really do with some octave action— but in an indie-disco kind of way. The band have really outdone their previous releases with “Crying Glitter” and we can’t wait to see what else they have in store. It’s not hard to see them dominating the larger London venues in just a few years time.
