Unscripted, unpredictable, and totally unmissable? That can only mean New Adelphi Comedy Night is back. The theatre may be closed for now, but the show will go on…line!
Each month pairs professional improv comedians with student guests for an evening of fast and funny mayhem. Comedians and students perform quick-witted gags, games, sketches, and songs inspired by your suggestions.
Previous line-ups have included some of the best in upcoming student comedy talent including Chortle Student Comedian of the Year and ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ winners and finalists. This is your chance to catch some of the best new comedy… and maybe get involved yourself in this highly interactive online show.
CSzUK have been entertaining audiences across the world since 2001 and have been providing lockdown laughs on zoom since March 2020. Coronavirus may be keeping us apart for now but let New Adelphi Comedy Night prove that laughter really is the best medicine*!
*not a medical fact. See a doctor.
Line up includes Comedy Writing and Performance student Tom Roberts!
My names Tom Roberts and I’m a first year student from North Wales. I am currently studying Comedy Writing and Performance in Salford. I’ve been a big fan of all types of comedy from a young age. I did my first stand up gig when I was around 12 in an old people’s home. Most of them slept throughout my set, which probably reflected more on my act than their age. I’m proud to say people have been sleeping though my act ever since! If you're an insomniac, you may want to come along to one of my sets; I may be the answer to all your problems (don’t snore to loud though - it may wake the rest of the audience up)!
Praise for CSzUK shows:
“…a non-stop stream of gags, sketches and general hilarity.” Lancashire Evening Post
“…skilled and funny with a remarkable ability to think on their feet.” Three Weeks ****
“…hilariously entertaining.” Buxton Festival Fringe
“…quick, witty, sometimes ingenious, and more often than not – just down-right silly” Yorkshire Times
“The team have certainly earned their title of ‘North-West’s top improvised comedy troupe'” North West End
WARNING: For ages 18+. The show is improvised so there is the potential for strong language and dark humour that some may consider offensive/triggering. There will be audience interaction via live chat and the possibility of video interaction.
