L/IT Ibiza Takeover Opening Party with Little Dragon (DJ Set) + Star Slinger

After an epic debut summer season at Angelica with the iconic Café Del Mar Sundays pop-up series and the sold out New Year’s Eve Party in 2017, Leeds DJ and producer Sara Garvey’s next venture is a return to the Leeds Ibiza Takeover Sunday ‘s (L/IT) with their sophomore season in 2018.The Ibiza Takeover Sundays will run every Sunday from May 27 to August 26 ,with plans to bring you even bigger and bolder summer DJ line ups and a few extra surprises - with the only policy to truly bring the Ibizan party spirit to Leeds.

We are thrilled to have Little Dragon perform a very rare, exclusive DJ set in the intimate surroundings of the Angelica terrace to launch the Ibiza Takeover Sunday’s 2018 summer season in true Ibizan fairytale style.Little Dragon is a band that needs no introduction, after five self-produced albums and headline slots at Glastonbury, Bestival, Dimensions and Lollapalooza to name a few. The Swedish electronic practitioners Fred and Erik stormed back in April 2017 with the release of their excellent new album Season High, reaffirming the band’s status as one of the world’s leading synth pop outfits, with a knack for earworm melodies and anthemic choruses. Their DJ sets have gained rave reviews on line-ups featuring DJs such as Questlove, Leon Vynehall, Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, Mount Kimbie, Magda, Maribou State and Seth Troxler.

Support comes from the prolific Star Slinger, a music producer and DJ from the UK, working between the fringes of electronica, house and hip hop, who gained notoriety after self-releasing a beat tape in the summer of 2010 entitled "Volume 1". Since then Star Slinger has gone on to collaborate with James Vincent McMorrow, Dawn Richard, Tinashe, Kilo Kish, Juicy J, Project Pat, Tunji Ige, Lil B, Sam Sparro & Teki Latex amongst others. He has officially remixed for Jessie Ware, London Grammar, Duke Dumont, Childish Gambino, Ellie Goulding, Gold Panda, Bipolar Sunshine, Hundred Waters (for Skrillex's OWSLA label), Little Dragon and many more. With is his third full length LP due out this Spring/Summer 2018, we cannot wait to welcome Star Slinger to the terrace alongside Little Dragon.

Curated by Leeds DJ and producer, Sara Garvey, aka Comfy Bella, the Ibiza Takeover summer sessions have been an instant hit, with crowds growing week on week at what is becoming THE party spot in Leeds every Sunday. Sara said: “The response we’ve had to these events has been incredible. We have carefully selected our DJ guests to ensure our music policy stays true to the L/IT sound to re-create the Ibiza spirit in Leeds. We can’t wait to welcome Little Dragon and Star Slinger to the Angelica terrace later this month.”

The L/IT Ibiza Takeover Opening Party takes place at Angelica on May 27 from 3pm-2am. Admission £8 - £25.
