Dominating the charts with a handful of anthems, Berlin-based duo Mat.Joe will bring their affection for Hip Hop & house to Ignis on August 23rd (Friday)!

Berlin based duo Mat.Joe come from a background of Rap, Skateboarding and Breakdancing - influencing their style of House today. From their roots as Hip Hop producers they have
moved to producing and playing crispy House beats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip Hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.

With strong influences from the hip-hop community, Matze and Johannes focus their shared past into their house music productions, and the resulting product is fantastic. Their sampling and crate digging techniques that would eventually lead to them creating the funk and soul-laden tech-house grooves the two have become known for over the last seven years. They may have traded drum breaks and rap ciphers for jackin’ rhythms and lasers, but the boys can still breakdance to house music.

Being best friends and moving from Hannover to Berlin to follow their sound - you can see their passion and camaraderie behind the decks. Being inspired by the Berlin culture and every day places such as subway rides, late night showers and favourite bars, their music has taken them on a journey.
