Calling all wildlife lovers, night wanderers, and curious explorers! Join us for a magical evening bat walk along the River Avon in beautiful Conham River Park to hear and see bats as they emerge from hibernation. Species in the area include common pipistrelles, soprano pipistrelles, Daubenton’s and noctule bats. We’ll be led by a licensed bat ecologist with 7+ years’ experience.

Location: Conham River Park - residential street parking available (exact what3words meeting spot to be shared nearer the time)
•Meeting time: 7.30pm (please arrive a few minutes early to make sure we can find each other)
•Finish: Approx 10.00pm
•Route: Riverside path (some hills, uneven terrain)
•Fitness level: Moderate — comfortable walking and changes in elevation
•Distance: ~2–3 km at relaxed pace

✔ Sturdy boots or good walking shoes
✔ Suitable outdoor clothing (layers + waterproof for any light drizzle)
✔ Torch or head torch (bonus points for red light filters)
✔ Water
We’ll provide the bat detectors, infrared cameras, bat information sheets to take home, and a sociable group to share the experience with.
