ALEX HART:

Devon born singer/ songwriter Alex Hart is proving to be an important addition to the UK's current crop of classy country and roots artists. After mastering the guitar and songwriting skills at the tender age of 14 with her biggest influences being Sheryl Crow & Norah Jones it was no surprise that when Alex Hart started sharing her voice and songs at live gigs in her hometown she was instantly noticed and discovered by some of the music industry's most influential producers and record labels.

At 18 she collaborated with electronic duo Electronic Youth on a cover of Angie Stones' "I Wish I Didn't Miss You" which had huge global radio success reaching No.2 in the Music Week Dance Charts and was supported by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. This recognition spearheaded a run of high-profile festivals performances and a slot opening for UK folk sensation Turin Brakes at the Lyme Regis Folk festival. Alex's opening performances landed her two record deals, as she was quickly snapped up by US label OK!Good Records and Right Track Records UK. Alex started working with Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer Terry Britten (famous for "What's Love Got To Do With It for Tina Turner) and went on to release her critically acclaimed debut Album "On this Day". Following the success of Alex's debut album, her voice and musicianship caught the eye of legendary Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre, who asked Alex to be a part of his band as a musician and vocalist for their European and international tour dates. Alex has performed and toured all over the UK/Europe with the band and has just embarked on an international US tour, Spring 2022.

Alex also collaborates and performs alongside, the critically acclaimed Devon born folk singer Seth Lakeman, Alex's voice as well her multi-instrumental playing features heavily on 3 of his albums. The new single "Higher We Aspire" is currently getting huge BBC Radio 2 support, and Alex has just performed the song live on BBC Breakfast TV. Alex is currently touring with Seth on a sold-out UK tour. As well as a busy touring schedule, Alex is constantly working on new music ready for new releases in 2023, Alex sold a staggering 10,000 copies of her self made, self produced album "Under the Covers" that she recorded and released at her home studio during lockdown in 2020. Alex Hart is not only a talented vocalist, but an accomplished musician too, 2023 is set to be her most successful and exciting year yet.

"Alex Hart is set to make a global impact"

THE GUARDIAN

"Alex Hart is not only a talented vocalist, but an accomplished musician too. Alex has grown as a musician over the years and is continually adding new instruments to her armoury."

ADAM SWEET:

Adam Sweet delivers brooding blues and rollicking rootsy rock, balancing richly detailed song writing with soulful vocals and expertly piercing guitar work.

Taking his cue from the British blues boom sounds and rock riffs of the 60s and 70s, the independent blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter has carved out his own territory between classic rock, blues and Americana. Since first taking to the live scene in the South West of England at the age of 15 he has worked in various guises: solo acoustic, session player and with his own bands. The result is a consummate ability to switch from sensitive singer-songwriter to full-on blues rocker with ease, as demonstrated in his countless live performances and his output as a recording artist.

Sonically, Adam is a guitar-slidin' force of nature whose songs can fill a hall with their effortless verve. Ranging from quietly desperate blues tunes to careening full-tilt rock, his approach is a testament to the idea that less can, in fact, be considerably more. A young bluesman with an ancient soul and a large presence in the here-and-now.

FYI: There are no toilet facilities at the church, however, the pub is a little walk up the road, make sure you grab a beer with them too!

This event will finish no later than around 10pm, free parking is available on the street.
