Yossari Baby + guests

Manchester-based shapeshifters Yossarians make a synth-driven excursion with Yossari Baby – an electro post punk/new wave three piece formed by request for the Manchester mafia during the silent pandemic late hours of the White Hotel. Notorious for their live shows, members Tim Schiazza (Yossarians), Mark Javin (DUDS, Starlight Magic Hour) and Lucie Forest – a French fashion designer – meld big electronic beats and dirty guitars with a slight melody from the resident Mannequin de Marseille.Yossari Baby’s debut album Inferiority Complex makes you want to dance whilst simultaneously cynically reflecting on the changing nature of the city – from its struggling inhabitants, to the contractors of its fate. The album is about people learning to live in the shadows of a rising skyline, and how we can live with each other’s opinions of the city’s ever-changing landscape. It’s about finding love in a world of false advertisements. It’s about nudity and architecture. It’s a party – an apocalyptic disco.“By turns funny, angry and arch, Yossari Baby sound vibrantly alive” – The Quietus (album of the month)

Threads: As startling as your most recent electricity bill, Thread’s latest single brings a blend of Swirlies and Country Teasers inspired tuneful angularity and imposing riffs by the North West’s authentically captivating guitar deconstructors Rigby and Robbins.

Bassist/vocalist Kane Martin’s meandering prose about the absurdity of now finds poetry in over-stimulation, and Hanley’s (yes his dad was in The Fall) percussion punctuates the turbulence – the combination of which puts them in the lineage of great bands before them.Making worlds with sounds, texture and literary ambition, Threads combine the intellect and primitive hypnotism to process the chaos of now in an experiment of misused four track tape machines, sonic qualities of hallways and DIY guitar pedals.

Beau Mec:No wave provocateurs Beau Mec are part of the ever evolving Baby6 collective.

Nothingheads: London’s Nothingheads’ avant-garde amalgamation of post-punk, psychedelia, and dark doom undertones has earned them comparisons to an amplified, less fragile iteration of Public Image Limited, mixed with the frenzy of the Dead Kennedys.

Ermine Fudge:Scrappy slacker garage pop

Autocamper:“…if you imagine Television Personalities combined with The Loft, you are halfway there…”
