The Coven: a free Halloween weekend of tarot, hexes and fate at The Three Compasses, Dalston
This Halloween, Dalston pub The Three Compasses is turning into The Coven - a weekend of DIY tarot, cocktail fortunes and a wall of hexes, running from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. Entry is free all weekend.
Rather than queuing for a fortune teller, guests can borrow a tarot deck from the bar and read their friends' fates themselves, with simple instructions in every box. At the bar, a cocktail fortunes menu reveals your fate depending on which drink you order, and the Hex Wall invites drinkers to write a curse on an ex, a landlord or the Overground and pin it up for all to see.
The pub will be lit in red and candlelight and draped in cobwebs, with occult burgers from Lagom, the pub's resident kitchen known for its smash burgers. DJs play Friday and Saturday from 9.30pm to 12.30am - 80s, 90s, indie, electro, rock 'n' roll, hip hop and party hits, with spooky bangers thrown in for good measure.
Treats & shots for the best costumes and hexes.
