Stand Up Comedy in Reading is back. Mates Rates Comedy is proud to present Comedy at The Taproom with Headliner Red Richardson on Sunday 30 June at 6:30pm.

Mates Rates Comedy has teamed up with Double-Barrelled Brewery to bring you the best acts from the UK comedy scene. 

We will have TV names, up and coming circuit comics and as always, you will be guided along by our trusty MC Carl Richard.

The show takes place at Double Barrelled Brewery between 6:30-8:30pm (doors open 5:00pm).

Red Richardson

Red Richardson is a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, writer, actor and podcaster and is now recognised as one of the most exciting new comics in The UK.

He has twice appeared on The Stand Up Sketch Show on ITV2, is a regular joke writer for ‘8 out of Ten Cats’, ‘8 out of Ten Cats does Countdown’ and ‘Live at The Comedy Store’ on Comedy Central and has written on Mock The Week..

Red’s 2018 Edinburgh debut “Seeing Red” garnered four star reviews from critics and played to packed houses at The Gilded Balloon. Since then he has co created and co hosted the global smash hit comedy podcast ‘Laughable’ which has charted around the world, trending on apple for 7 weeks, hitting number 10 in the UK I Tunes comedy charts, number 22 in all categories and has been featured as The Guardian’s entertainment ‘pick of the week’ and The Guardians ‘Top 50 comedy podcasts, Pod bibles podcast of the week, as well as Acast’s podcasts of the week, I tunes New and Noteworthy and Apple podcast’s specially curated ‘Shows we love’.

Josephine Lacey

Josephine Lacey first came onto the London comedy circuit in October 2008. Drawing on her Jamaican-Irish heritage and life experiences she delivers her material with an honest humour and a natural raw energy with the guile and wisdom of someone that's been there, done it and bought the t-shirt, delivering her material with an effortless charm and huge smile that leaves audiences loving her and wanting more.

Josephine regularly performs in England and Ireland. Her performances at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2010 & 2011 made a huge impact on audiences and promoters alike leaving her comedy voice in great demand.

Dom LTR

Dom LTR is a London based comedian leisurely making his way to the middle. Shortlisted for the BBC New Comedian of the Year Award 2022 and King Gong Winner December 2021 – he’s been described as ‘the love child of both your favourite comedians’. Dom’s sharp, punchline heavy style will draw you into his hilariously distinct way of thinking and leave you wondering why he doesn’t have more than 334 followers on Instagram.
