James Dowdeswell is a highly sought-after headline act in UK comedy clubs and an MC with erudite, off-the-cuff, and clean humor. He's a TV regular, appearing on Russell Howard’s Good News, Jimmy Carr’s Celebrity Deal Or No Deal and Ricky Gervais' hit classic Extras. He also presented World Cup Round Up for Sky Sports. Also known as the Craft Beer Comedian, he's the author of The Pub Manifesto: A Comedian Stands Up For Pubs. James is gearing up to tour his new solo show, "Beers Of A Clown."

Our compere and your host for Stand in The Basement, Colin Owens, is an award-winning stand-up comedian, who has worked with Jimmy Carr, the teams behind The Inbetweeners and Mighty Boosh. Described as ‘laconic and charming’, Colin talks about his failings, inadequacies, mistakes and general stupidity, all tinged with an air of paranoia and insecurity, but delivered with supreme confidence and sexual edginess!

📅 WHEN: Stand Up in the Basement is a once-a-month comedy night, always on the last Tuesday of the month.

🕗 TIMINGS: We aim to kick off the show at 8pm. There'll be an opening act, short break, two rising acts in the shorter middle section, another break, and we'll finish up with the headliner. The show typically finishes around 10.30pm. The bar downstairs will be open before and after the show, and the upstairs bar will be open during the intervals.

🏠 VENUE: This event is now (not in the basement, but) upstairs at Heartbreakers Bar & Venue, located at 7-9 Hanover Buildings, Southampton, SO14 1JX. Check out their website here.
