Rainhill Music Festival 2014 kicks off with one of the UK's brightest talents.
The Hummingbirds are a 5 piece Merseybeat inspired ensemble from Liverpool. Growing up on the streets of Merseyside the 21 year old lads have been heavily influenced by music from the 50's/60's period capturing that unmistakable Liverpool sound that is helping make quite a stir with their feel-good tunes and strong melodic, harmonic sensibilities.
The Hummingbirds will be joined by The Mono LPS, another band on the rise. The Mono LPs showcase juicy guitar riffs, intricate T-Rex like swooping strings, sexually charged lyrics and an uncompromising energy. The offbeat five-piece have established themselves as a group of major significance on the scene through their impressive work ethic and a dedication to an ever-expanding fan base of ‘Monettes’.
Also on the bill for this 1 day only festival is Alex Hulme, a young singer songwriter also from the North West. Blending aggressive, energetic live performances with well crafted, edgy song-writing and masterful use of the LoopStation, Alex is already booked for a number of festivals in 2014 as well as a run of live dates across the UK to support his EP release.
If all this wasn't enough there will be a whole host of local bands throughout the day, all performing in a giant 900 person marquee at Rainhill Cricket Club. Don't miss this amazing gig, book before November to get your day pass for just £6!
