Based in London, O’Flynn is a young producer and selector who first caught the attention of the dance community with 2013’s ‘Mantle’. His debut wax cut ‘Tyrion/Desmond’s Empire’ (also the inaugural release of the Blip Disc imprint) featured regularly in the sets of Four Tet, and was championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Midland and Bradley Zero to name a few. The A-side is an high octane take on calypso drumming, blended with raw african vocal chants and thumping kicks. The flip side reveals a different yet equally impressive style of accordion riffs and afro inspired percussion akin to the sounds of artist such as Auntie Flo and labels like Soundway Records. Expect more floor-filling cuts from O’Flynn in the near future!
