good time rock ‘n’ roll alive and kicking into the 21st century.

SONS OF LIBERTY

Rocking
stages since 2014 Sons of Liberty are a band of seasoned musicians from
Bristol and South Wales. We were drawn together by our shared love of
the incredible music of the Southern States of America....and our desire
to share this with the people of the UK. An energetic band who deliver
an authentic show based on professional musical ability.
The
idea for the band started on a road trip to go and buy a used
guitar..... Andy and Fred were listening to southern rock music in the
van. 'Why the hell is nobody playing this stuff.... we gotta put a band
together and do this".... the rest is history! The guitar duo knew who
they needed as a front man...former Mick Underwood's Glory Road vocalist
Rob Cooksley. The Rhythm section of Drummer Steve Byrne and Bassist
Mark Thomas were the next obvious choices. As soon as we told them what
we were doing we got a resounding Hell Yeah! The result is a band of
people who love the music, know how to play and know how to put on a
rocking show.
Early 2018 saw the band release their highly
acclaimed debut EP '...Shinola' - 100% home grown and 100% Southern!.
Tracks are featured regularly on Rock Radio stations such as Hard Rock
Hell Radio (UK), Rock Rage Radio and Flying V Radio in the USA.
The band released the follow up 'Aged in Oak' in September 2018 and it's kind of gone ballistic ever since!
Sons of Liberty are proud to part of the UK's resurgence of quality Classic Rock - The New Wave of Classic Rock (NWOCR).
The
Band is gigging regularly across the UK and is building a solid
reputation. We have shared a stage with Skinny Molly (featuring
ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot members) and Stone Broken, southern rock
legend Jay Johnson has opened up for us. During 2018 we’ve been hitting
the road for some nationwide shows with Planet Rock's Winter's End
favourites The Outlaw Orchestra and with North Yorkshire's acclaimed
rockers Straightshooter! We are also booked for some great festivals
and exciting shows in 2019 including Hard Rock Hell C.R.O.W.S. with
Molly Hatchet and The Kentucky Headhunters and Giants of Rock 2019 with
Skid Row, FM and The Sweet.
STEVE MERCY

Drawing
on the rich musical heritage of the West Midlands, singer/songwriter
Steve Mercy has his roots firmly in rock but is now well on his way to
creating a unique blend of Black Country Rock!
Taking influences from Johnny Cash through to Sister's of Mercy, Steve continues to
develop this uniqueness as a solo artist; however he is no stranger to
the limelight chalking up worldwide album releases with bands such as
Abigail's Mercy, Omega and Holy Rage (featuring Judas Priest founding
member Al Atkins).
He has also shared the stage with acts such as
The Levellers, Dogs D'amour, LA Guns, Love/Hate, Sigue Sigue Sputnik,
Almighty/Thin Lizzy vocalist Ricky Warwick, Blaze Bayley and the
'mighty' Jo Burt to name but a few.
Steve has been performing both in bands as main man/bassist/guitarist and as a session musician,
allowing him to develop his craft both as a vocalist and dynamic
performer across a number of genres but it is in the live environment
that his charisma and ability really shines!
Steve Mercy is now quickly establishing himself as a solo acoustic performer of note and will soon be releasing his debut album.
Black Country Rock is coming your way so watch this space...
