Join local Stoke-on-Trent author Mel Sheratt in conversation with Festival Director Simon Drakeford. Mel has worked a variety of jobs in her hometown – bank teller, housing officer, and training and development consultant, to name a few – but she has always been a writer at heart. There isn’t a day that goes by where she doesn’t have a pen in her hand and a book to read nearby. She now writes crime fiction and psychological suspense across multiple series and has sold over two million books. Shortlisted for the prestigious CWA (Crime Writers' Association) Dagger in the Library Award, she has recently published her twenty-sixth novel. Readers say her writing takes you to the heart of the crime – dark fiction with an emotional pull. Mel also writes emotional and heartwarming fiction under the pen name of Marcie Steele.
