Discover York, centre of culture, arts and entertainment. Step back into the middle ages with timber-framed houses, traditional shopfronts and one of the most historic streets. Marvel in front of one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe or travel back in time by admiring remains of what once used to be the capital of the Viking territory. Walk down the Shambles a street which many Harry Potter fans might recognise as the magical Diagon Alley. Alternatively, you can take a tour along the ancient city wall or hear the spine-chilling stories and see the most haunted places in the town on the famous York Ghost tour.
