About the venue: A cocktail bar and gastropub rated 4.1 from around 1,036 reviews, mid-priced. The hours are the most restrictive of any UK venue here: closed Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday, opening 4pm to 11pm on Thursday. A Thursday event is the only weekday option. One accessibility note from reviewers: there are a lot of stairs, which may be difficult for anyone with limited mobility.
Getting there: The venue is on Little Stonegate in the heart of historic York, a nine-minute walk from York station — which has direct LNER services from London, Edinburgh, Leeds and Newcastle, giving the venue an unusually wide catchment. York city centre is largely pedestrianised, so driving in is awkward; the park-and-ride sites or a station arrival are much easier.
