House Is A Feeling is a new night at Warehouse LDN that harks back to a simpler time when people just wanted to dance, smile and have fun on a night out. Tonight, this feel good night of pure house joy – be it soulful or vocal, deep or uplifting – is headline by a legendary special guest who pioneered this sound in the form of Marshall Jefferson, as well as Soul Avengerz, Alex P and more.
Those in the know have been camped out at Warehouse LDN every weekend for ages now: the raw and well appointed warehouse space has a specifically tailored variation of Funktion One’s Dance Stack technology designed by Tony Andrews and offers up electric atmospheres at each and every party.
Headlining will be Marshall Jefferson. Few men have been as instrumental in the development of Chicago house music since the 1980s as him, because he has had a hand in everything from deep house to acid house to ghetto house.Whether crafting his own bona-fide classics like ‘Move Your Body’ or ‘The House Anthem’ or playing the keys on the productions of peers like CeCe Rogers’ ‘Someday’ (with whom he now runs USB Records) or whether touring the world taking his unique house sound and many Traxx releases to fans everywhere, Jefferson is and always will be mentioned whenever the history of house is discussed.
Soul Avengerz have been an integral part of the London house scene for over 20 years now. They know the scene and sound inside out so lay down sets of pure musical magic and their own productions are just as essential, coming in the past on Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, Milk&Sugar and many more. More than able support comes from Philgood & Ram, Nico Da Funksta, Mark Ruston and more.
One of the old school, Alex P has been doing his house thing for years. Formerly a resident at Amnesia and a host of a radio show on London’s Kiss FM, Alex has also presented on MTV, Sky and others and shared an anarchic relationship with Brandon Block. Now a real house gem who knows how to rock a party, he will be a real highlight tonight.
