No prizes for guessing that STAND UP IN THE BASEMENT is a stand up comedy night and guess what? It’s on a Tuesday night! Meaning you get to see top TV comics making you chuckle in the same room, and for a fraction of the normal price!

As well as familiar faces from TV, we feature some of the best circuit comics, plus new raw talent and occasionally a few big names who wanna come and try out some new material. It’s tailor-made for people who love live comedy! You’ll get to see a diverse range of comic talent in an intimate space.

⭐ MORGAN REES

This softly spoken Welsh comedian boasts a densely packed arsenal of impressive one-liners and hilarious short stories. Morgan has appeared on BBC Radio 4 in the prestigious finals of the BBC New Comedy Award. He was also a runner-up in So You Think You’re Funny 2017, and a finalist in Chortle Student Comedy Award. Based in Bristol, he gigs all over the UK as both act & compere and has performed on several mixed bill shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2016. Most recently you would have caught him opening for Rhys James (Russell Howards Stand Up Comedy Central, Mock The Week) & Fern Brady (Live At The Apollo).

⭐ MICHAEL FABBRI

Michael Fabbri quickly stamped his mark on the UK stand up comedy scene when he appeared in the final of Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny? competition. His affable and electric style can regularly be seen at major comedy clubs throughout the UK, including The Comedy Store, Komedia, The Glee Club, The Stand and Just The Tonic. His international appearances include Amsterdam, Singapore, Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi.

He has performed several solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival and supported Micky Flanagan, Lucy Porter and Stephen K Amos on tour. Michael’s radio and TV credits include his own stand up series Dyslexicon on BBC Radio 4 and Stand Up For The Week (Channel 4).

COLIN OWENS [COMPERE]

Our compere and your host for Stand in The Basement, Colin Owens, is an award-winning stand-up comedian, who has worked with Jimmy Carr, the teams behind The Inbetweeners and Mighty Boosh. Described as ‘laconic and charming’, Colin talks about his failings, inadequacies, mistakes and general stupidity, all tinged with an air of paranoia and insecurity, but delivered with supreme confidence and sexual edginess!
