Light Source presents- Ronald Hutton, Witch Hunting old and new.

Welcome to the Light Source Talks Program

We are pleased to present our first talk by Ronald Hutton- Witch Hunting old and new.

Professor of History Ronald, Author of ' The Witch, A History of Fear, from Ancient Times to the Present'

He is a leading authority on history of the British Isles in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, on ancient and medieval paganism and magic, and on the global context of witchcraft beliefs. Also the leading historian of the ritual year in Britain and of modern paganism.

Hutton's book The Witch "Traces the idea of witches far beyond the Salem witch trials to beliefs and attitudes about witches around the world throughout history."-Los Angeles Times

Light Source is a program of talks exploring Witch Hunts and Ritual Performance hosted by artist Amy Kingsmill.

This is our first talk in a series of 12 monthly talks and workshops on these themes, please check back at our website as we announce our full list of speakers and dates.

Light Source brings light to lost histories of persecuted people- primarily women, and honours them. It explores and expands the use of body performance techniques and contextualises them within the practice of queer people and women, creating a space to share these techniques & histories.

This talk is at Hilda Clarke 2 Suite, Friends House Euston Road. 173-177 Euston Rd, London NW1 2BJ

This is a socially distanced event with a small capacity of 30 people with socially distanced seating.
All guests must adhere to social distancing and wear masks within the venue.
