Sturgeon Moon Festival

A day festival celebrating magic, spirituality and the arts.

During the day, there will be creative activities, such as Songwriting workshops, Mookie’s moon circle, song feedback sessions, wish tree rituals, poetry readings and more!

Live music by the most magical artists during the evening.

Schedule

Afternoon

14:00 - 15:00: Creating Connections

A casual led networking session, where songwriters, poets, writers, producers, singers and creatives can come for a delicious drink from The Pink Moon cafe and bar and talk about all their exciting projects and dreams! This session will be casually led by Mookie and Delphine, who will provide prompts, suggestions, and low-key games.

15:00 - 15:45: Object Writing

In this Workshop, Delphine will give participants a selection of “Object Writing” exercises (as created by Songwriting Professor and author Pat Pattison)

16:00 - 16:45: Mookie’s Monthly Moon Circle

Mookie’s moon circle invites everyone to come together and share our intentions for the new moon. What are you holding onto? Let’s let it all go

The wish tree ritual will also take place and this will allow us burn paper with what we want to let go of because after all, what’s no longer serving us is not meant for us…

17:00 - 17:30: Poetry Readings

Local poetry is one of our favourite forms of art, and we want to showcase some of the best that Brighton has to offer!
Features: Heather @sprigs.of.heather and Sarah @insarahwords

18:00 - 18:45: Song Feedback Session

This Feedback session allows for 2-3 artists to present a song of theirs, with lyrics projected on the wall. The audience can give constructive feedback, talk about parts they enjoyed and how the song could be improved. We will ensure that feedback is positive, constructive and with good intentions, creating a safe space for everyone involved.
