Square The Circle

Square The Circle - a new club night in Manchester celebrating Sound System Culture, from the crew behind the 'Rave of Aquarius' parties.

Expect a wild and welcoming multifarious crowd of music-lovers bouncin' to the selections of aficionado residents and guest DJs.

"I love that everyone is dancing with each other rather than all facing the DJ!" Clare - Rave Of Aquarius

The dance floor is the focus of Square The Circle and we have 4 top drawer DJs for you on May 18th, dedicated to keeping the crowd moving with the freedom to take the vibe where it needs to go.
To celebrate Sound System Music in all its forms, not limited by specific genres, timeframes or scenes, we are open to 'all elements, all directions'. You may hear flavours of hip-hop, funk, dub, afro-beat and dancehall through to house, techno, breaks, garage, jungle and more.

Our last event in February took the roof off at Morgan's Bar and we are back there again in May. It's the perfect place for this night - no frills, no fuss, down to earth, and off the beaten track. It is the kind of venue that many of us cut our teeth in during the early days of the UK warehouse party scene

The quality of the sound system is crucial to create the dynamic, immersive experience we crave so once again we've teamed up with the meticulous Sixth Sound to provide the PA.

** Early bird and advance tickets available now at £7 & £9 (+bf) and £12 on the door **

Guest DJs

Jackson Massey (Manchester)

Graduating in fine art at Chelsea College of Arts in 2019, Jackson began to DJ and promote resident club nights in London at venues such as Corsica Studios and Venue MOT. With strong roots in acid house, jazz and electronic dance music, his wide ranging tastes have seen him collaborate on projects with brands such as Adidas and support 808 state on their 2021 tour. Notable gigs include The Warehouse Project Glastonbury. He continues to play at clubs & festivals across the country and abroad.

DJ Rich (Blackburn)

A veteran vinyl DJ born out of the hedonistic explosion of Blackburn’s Acid House scene from the late 80s.  Albeit a long term member of the local Drum & Bass/Jungle collective - No9 Kru, Rich has always maintained his passion for spinning old skool 1988-93 dance music. Not to be under-estimated, this quiet man of the turntables has always demonstrated a high standard of technical ability, bringing a ripe selection of music and energy for the dance floor.

Resident DJs

Nay Daze (Norwich)

Owner of Magik Feet record shop and an instigator of the 'I Dream of Records' fair in Norfolk, Nathan is a passionate vinyl collector with an extensive knowledge of dance music spanning multiple styles and eras.  An incredibly versatile and intuitive selector, he has played at every Rave of Aquarius party since 2019 and is a regular DJ at the Sneaky club nights in London.

Damien Mahoney (Manchester)

Another Blackburn-born DJ hugely influenced by the legendary underground Acid House scene of the late 80’s & early ’90’s. He is renowned for unique, high intensity sets combining evolving styles of new electronic music and old classics. Damien has been creating and promoting music nights for 25 years, from live hip hop jams to DIY free parties, Indian classical concerts and everything in between. He is the singer, producer and composer with Caulbearers, an 8 piece Manchester ensemble. Under guises such as Defunkles, Kangarilla and Fooligan, he has released electronic music for independent and commercial labels including remix work for R&B artist Faith Evans. Damien has DJ’ed and performed live at venues and festivals across the UK including Glastonbury, Beatherder, Moovin’ and Shambala.
