The intergalactic is by no means out of the reach of many of our personal Jazz and Funk heroes. From Sun-ra to Alice Coltrane through to George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, as far as spirituality in music is concerned, space is the place. We'll be transforming the interior of Rock City in tribute to the spaced-out motifs from seminal P-Funk album the 'Mothership Connection'.

We are incredibly excited to announce that for our Funkadelic themed galactic blow out, we have booked a group which are undoubtedly our biggest live booking to date. The HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE will be coming all the way from Chicago to play Caramello on October 4th. This eight-piece ensemble consists of eight sons of the legendary Jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran. Their eclectic blend of genres makes for a sound which can only truly be described as Hypnotic. Nevermind this write up, the ensemble’s long list of collaborations is enough to make your eyes water. The group have worked with the likes of De La Soul, Prince (may he RIP), Femi Kuti, Erykah Badu and have featured heavily on the Gorillaz third studio album Plastic Beach. The week after the show the band will be supporting the legendary Mos Def for one night only in London's Kentish Town. For the moment, feast your eyes on their hit WAR:

His label has even welcomed the works of Max Graef, MCDE and Christopher Rau and counts the very well respected Murat Tepeli and Tito Wun as some of his biggest advocates. He boasts the reputation of one of the knowledgeable and most eclectic cross-genre selector and crate digger on the european circuit. This activist of the groove has succeeded - in only a few years - to transform the musical landscape of his hometown of Cologne. A burning passion for the golden era of 70's, 80's and 90's funk, house and soul clearly resonates throughout his sets, with his brand of soulful house and reworked disco edits becoming his signature amongst fans.
