Charlie Smith & HerOrangeCoat live @ Northern Guitars

Join us on Thursday, the 10th of September, for the 2nd night of the 'When I grow up, I don't want to be anything at all' tour. Celebrating the release of the second album by alternative artist Charlie Smith. Joining him on the stage is a talented local musician, HerOrangeCoat.

The tour seeks to promote local grassroots music, not only by featuring talented musicians but also by fundraising for the music venue trust. There is a complete optional £1 ticket levy if you would like to support the vital work they do. Charlie Smith will also be donating £1 for every T-shirt to the cause. Charlie Smith

My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I’m Charlie Smith, a singer-songwriter from Romsey, Hampshire. I perform solo and have experience playing and hosting my own independent shows at venues such as The Railway Inn, Flack Manor Brewery, and The Platform Tavern. I am super passionate about grassroots music and regularly participate in action to grow my local scene. Fiercely independent, I record and produce all music with a true DIY ethos. In April, I hosted six gigs in England as part of my music venue trust fundraiser tour. I managed to fundraise £575, including events in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool & Leicester.

HerOrangeCoat

Hailing from West Yorkshire, HerOrangeCoat is a definitive example of the sum being greater than the parts. Her music - original, soulful and heartfelt - is a beguiling mixture of her life experiences to date. Her lyrics are hard-hitting, topical and eloquent, showing off her rich vocals, reminiscent of artists such as Joni Mitchell. Armed with her ukulele, she crafts songs that show a remarkable ability to turn melancholy into an enticing musical journey.
