The Weeping Willows

terrace cred. presents:
Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth, The Weeping Willows, are a couple of old souls from Australia, steeped in Bluegrass tradition and draped in Gothic Americana imagery. They regale their audiences with stories of sunshine and romance, God and The Devil, murder and decay. Proper stuff - real music! And they've made a massive impact on audiences, venues and critics in just a few years, so we couldn't pass on the prospect of bringing this pair into town when they approached asking for a Brighton date.

Between 2017 and 2023 The Weeping Willows were nominated for 14 CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ awards, seven Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs), four Country Music Channel (CMC) awards and two Live Act of the Year (Country) in the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs).

The Weeping Willows have toured internationally in support of their three LPs. They are no strangers to Festival stages like AmericanaFest (USA), Folk Alliance International (USA), Maverick Festival (UK), Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival, Out On The Weekend and the Australian Americana Music Honours. They've featured on large tours (opening for Lukas Nelson & POTR the likes of Iris DeMent). They also thrive in the intimate spaces that grassroots venues can provide - we're lucky to have 'em come and play.
