FEEL
Felt (the past tense of feel) and also the name of the legendary 80s group that recorded ten albums in that decade. Feel (the present tense of felt) is a new group made up of original Felt members Gary Ainge (who played drums on all ten albums), Marco Thomas on bass and Philip King on rhythm guitar. Along with Martin Davies on keys and Andy Wellings on lead guitar, they will be honouring the beauty of Felt’s music - by playing instrumental Felt songs - and Felt songs instrumentally. As it says so accurately on the Felt album sleeves - the songs were “coloured in by the band” - and that’s what they intend to do. As well as showcasing the melodic ingenuity of Maurice Deebank and Martin Duffy, they will also be performing instrumental interpretations of some of the songs of Lawrence.
RACHEL LOVE
Rachel was a co-founder and guitarist/singer/songwriter of the beloved post-punk and proto-indie pop trio, Dolly Mixture, who blended 1960s girl-group harmonies and melodic pop hooks. Rachel emerged decades later with solo work that channels gentle psychedelia, pastoral textures, and analog warmth. Her latest album, “Lyra,” a tribute to her late husband Steve Lovell, was recorded at home with her sons David and Syd on guitar and bass, with David also co-producing..
THE TREASURES OF MEXICO
The Treasures Of Mexico is the brainchild of Mark Matthews, working with Bob Collins his former colleague in 80s indie legends The Dentists, and assisted by Nick Rice on bass and Russ Baxter on drums. They last wowed the masses with a storming set at Glasgoes Pop 2024 in support of their album Burn The Jets. Since then Mark and Bob have been in action with Jetstream Pony and Swansea Sound respectively. With work underway on their fourth album, the Treasures of Mexico are bringing their dreamy, sparkling guitar pop sensibilities back in front of the nation’s discerning audiences in 2027. It’s good to have them back.
