A grassroots gig at The Thunderbolt, Bristol, hosted by POLYGAZE. Join us on Thursday 16th April for an evening of post rock grassroots music from the likes of;
Emerging from Abergavenny, South Wales, Third Man are a tight, energetic four-piece post-punk/indie band making noise well beyond their hometown. Formed in 2023, the band has quickly built a reputation for sharp, melodic songwriting and live shows that get people moving. Their sound fuses the angular funk of Talking Heads, the eccentric pulse of The B-52s, and the ragged urgency of The Libertines, filtered through a distinctive wit and grit.
Octopig was born from the collision of opposites — the brute force of the pig and the strange, fluid intelligence of the octopus — a metaphor for the way we fuse contradictory genres into a single, volatile sound. Over the past year they've carved out who they are: a blend of stoner metal, sludge and doom welded to desert rock grit, post-rock expansiveness and grunge’s raw nerve.
Wreckship are a fresh and exciting presence on the South West alternative scene. The band channel the volume, energy and rush of their live show into their music. Their sound recalls the melody and muscle of classic Emo bands like Alexisonfire, Lower Than Atlantis and Basement with the modern sensibilities of Movements, putting Wreckship up there any with any of the established acts on influential indies like Specialist Subject and Big Scary Monsters.
