Morning visit - The Laskett Gardens are the largest private formal gardens to be created in England since 1945. They have transformed from a four acre field into a series of stunning garden rooms, vistas, ascents and descents. These include a rose garden, pleached lime avenue, orchard, kitchen garden, knot garden, fountains, statuary and parterres as well as a spectacular array of topiary and rich herbaceous and prairie style borders. Entry cost includes the beautifully illustrated plan by Jonathan Myles-Lea and also the audio guide. Afternoon visit - Kentchurch Court is considered to be one of the most important historic houses in England and has been in the Lucas-Scudamore family for almost 1,000 years. The current house dates to the 14th century although the family can trace its roots back further to 1042, when Ralph Scudamore came over to Herefordshire from Normandy, building a castle in Ewyas Harold for Edward the Confessor. Cost includes entrance into the gardens and a tour of the house. Timings: Pick up Hereford as the only pick up point. We will leave Broad Street, Hereford (outside Cathedral) at 10:40am. We will then arrive back into Hereford at approx 5:30pm Costs: Including entrance fees and travel costs are £39 per person for 'Heritage' members and £44 for non members.
