As the uni year draws to a close, we're gearing up to throw the most epic end-of-year celebration yet. Join us for a night of unforgettable memories, electrifying performances, and non-stop fun that you won't want to miss.

Highlights of the Evening:

Multiple Stages: We're taking entertainment to the next level with multiple stages featuring a diverse lineup of music genres and acts. Whether you're into Dance, R&B, Cheese or D&B, or something in between, we've got something for everyone to enjoy.

Bars Galore: Quench your thirst and keep the party going at over 11 bars scattered throughout the venue. From champagne to ice-cold beers, we've got all your favorite drinks covered. Plus, keep an eye out for the Hooch Van serving up refreshing beverages with a twist.

Free Fun Fair: Step right up and experience the thrill of our free-to-use fun fair! Take a ride on the Waltzer, test your driving skills on the dodgems, and try not to scream on Extreme. The fun fair is guaranteed to bring out an unforgettable experience.

Big Top Festival Stage: Prepare to be amazed as our outdoor big top festival stage comes to life with mesmerising performances, chart-topping acts and a Silent Disco!

Walkabout Performers: Keep your eyes peeled for our talented walkabout performers roaming the grounds throughout the night. From stilt walkers to jugglers, these entertainers will keep you smiling and laughing as you explore everything the Summer Ball has to offer.

Festival Food Stalls: Refuel and recharge with delicious eats from our lineup of festival food trucks. Whether you're craving savory street food, burgers, or vegan delights, there's something to satisfy every craving.

Entertainment

QUESTION; How many fun fair rides will there be?

ANSWER; There will be 4 fun fair rides at the event; Dodgems, Extreme, Miami Trip & Waltzers. These are also free to use.

QUESTION; What music genres will be covered?

ANSWER; The Summer Ball is designed to cater to all students. Hopefully, there’s something for everyone. Keep your eyes peeled for the line up announcement!

Bars/Food

QUESTION; Is the event Cashless?

ANSWER; Yes, so don’t forget your contactless card!

QUESTION; How many bars are there at the event?

ANSWER; There are 11 bars throughout the event. Including a specialist Hooch van, a champagne bar to help celebrate the highlight of the year plus all your favourite drinks.

QUESTION; Will I be able to purchase food at the event?

ANSWER; Yes, we will have festival-style food traders on site all night long.

Purchasing Tickets

QUESTION; When will General Release tickets be on sale?

ANSWER; From the 15th of April 2024 until the 9th of May. So make sure you get your ticket before this date or risk missing out on the biggest night of the year.

QUESTION; How many tickets can I buy as a student?

ANSWER; You can buy one Standard ticket per student with the option to also purchase one Guest ticket for a friend via student sign-in.

QUESTION; I am an ex-student how do I buy a ticket?

ANSWER; You can buy one Alumni ticket per ex-student plus one guest, please provide your UoR student number from when you attended the university.

QUESTION; I am University Staff how do I buy a ticket?

ANSWER; You can buy one University Staff ticket per Staff Member plus one guest, please provide your department when purchasing a ticket.

QUESTION; I am an Associate how do I buy a ticket?

ANSWER; You can buy one Associate Ticket plus one guest ticket per associate member via sign-in.

QUESTION; Are tickets transferrable?

ANSWER; No. Tickets for this event are non-transferrable so please make sure you are able to attend before you buy your ticket.

QUESTION; Can I get a refund?

ANSWER; No. Tickets for this event are non-refundable so please make sure you are able to attend before you buy your ticket. We will make an exception if the event is cancelled or postponed.

Guests

QUESTION; How many guests can I bring?

ANSWER; Each person can bring in one guest.

QUESTION; Can my guest buy their own ticket?

ANSWER; Yes, they must list the Student ID/name of who they are attending the event with when buying the ticket.

QUESTION; Can I attend as a member of the public?

ANSWER; Only if you are attending with a current or ex-student, staff member or associate member. Please note, if you buy a ticket and are not attending with one of those you may not be eligible for a refund.

Wristband Collection

QUESTION; Do I need to bring ID to wristband collection?

ANSWER; Bring your campus card (or ID for non-student ticket types) to wristband collection so that we can ensure wristbands are being provided to the ticket buyer.

QUESTION; When can I collect my wristband from the 3sixty Box Office?

ANSWER; Thursday 6th June, 12pm-2pm

Friday 7th June, 12pm-2pm

Saturday 8th June, 12pm-4pm

QUESTION; I cannot collect until the event. Can I collect on the door?

ANSWER; You can collect your wristband on entry to the event at these times;

• Priority 8pm-9pm
• General Release 9pm-9:30pm

We strongly recommend getting it before where possible to avoid queues on entry. You will not be able to collect after these times and will unfortunately not be eligible for a refund.

QUESTION; Can I collect my guest’s wristband?

ANSWER; Yes, as long as your details are listed when they purchased the ticket.

QUESTION; What if I lose my wristband?

ANSWER; Your wristband will be put on at point of collection to help avoid losing it. However, if you do lose this, you will not be supplied with a replacement and will not be eligible for a refund.

QUESTION; What if my wristband feels too tight?

ANSWER; We will ensure your wristband is comfortable at collection. Be mindful that the lock can be tightened. If you have any issues, please visit the team at the Welcome Desk.

Dress Code

QUESTION; What is the dress code?

ANSWER; It’s a ball! Get dressed up in suits, dresses and jumpsuits. Our top tip is to wear comfortable footwear as it is a long event covering outdoor areas.

Event Timings

QUESTION; When do doors open?

ANSWER; Priority admission is from 8pm and general admission is from 9pm via the main entrance on the meadow (just beyond Park House). We recommend getting down early to make the most of the entertainment on offer.

QUESTION; When is last entry time?

ANSWER; Last entry into the event is 11pm.

QUESTION; What is the running order?

ANSWER; Keep your eyes peeled. We will release this the week of the event so that you can plan out your evening to maximise your enjoyment. Line up may be subject to change.

QUESTION; When does the event finish?

ANSWER; 6am so please remember to pace yourself throughout the evening and not to drink excessively. Make your way down to the Big Top Tent to be part of our Summer Ball Survivors photo 2024!

QUESTION; Is there a cloakroom?

ANSWER; No, there is no cloakroom at this event. Make sure you can carry or wear whatever you bring with you.

Terms & Conditions

QUESTION; Can I be refused entry?

ANSWER; As this is a licensed event; management reserve the right to refuse entry to the event where deemed necessary. Please note that if you turn up and we believe you are intoxicated you will not be allowed entry. You will not be eligible for a refund if you are refused entry.

QUESTION; Will I be in photographs or video content?

ANSWER; Photography and videography will be in place throughout the event. By entering the event you will consent to any photographs/videos of yourself being used for marketing purposes by the Students’ Union in the future.

QUESTION; Will there be smoke, haze or strobes?

ANSWER; Yes. These will be used in various venues throughout the event.

QUESTION; Is smoking allowed?

ANSWER; Smoking is allowed in the outdoor spaces of the event.

QUESTION; Are there any restricted items?

ANSWER; No food, alcohol, liquids, weapons or drugs can be brought into this event. Searches will be in place on entry to the event and if you are found with any of these you may be refused entry.

QUESTION; Am I allowed to leave and re-enter the event?

ANSWER; No. There is a no re-entry policy for this event.

QUESTION; I am currently excluded from the venue. Can I attend the Summer Ball?

ANSWER; Unfortunately, as this is a licensed event, you will not be able to attend.
