About To Blow Presents: The Christmas Jamm w/ Champion + MC Serious

From the parties, to the festivals, interviews, guest mixes and radio shows 2014 has been a huge year for About To Blow. So to celebrate a momentous year it's only right to get in to the festive vibe and throw a Christmas party.

To get in to the merry mood About To Blow have recruited some of their favourite established and emerging artists as they look to push the Funktion One Soundsystem to its limits for a good old knees up... all in the spirit of Christmas of course.

Heading up room one is the undisputed king of UK Funky, DJ Champion. The London producer and Formula Records figurehead is a master of dance floor-driven 4/4 that's as unique as it is infectious. Having gained notoriety from releases with the likes of Terror Danger & Four Tet, it's tracks like Lighter, Sensitivity and Crystal Meth that reaffirmed his status as a pioneer of the Bassline & UK Funky scenes. With further releases under his 'Hayfever' moniker as well as the newly releases 'Get Down' EP alongside Melé, Champion remains one of the best producers in the scene and put's down a DJ set like no other, which is why we're delighted to have him grace the decks for a special 90-minute set. Guaranteed to deliver serious energy, this is a set not to miss.

As progression goes, Amy Becker has had a meteoric rise to the top. Having been spotted by 1Xtra at the beginning of 2012, the Londoner swiftly became a part of Mistajam's Daily Dose residents & quickly became known for her seamless fusion of everything from Garage & Grime, to House, Hip Hop & Bassline. With plaudits from some of the biggest names in the industry and having recently played a Boiler Room set Amy rightfully cemented her status as one of the UK's brightest prospects.

ATB's very own Warren Xlnce is a London and Nottingham based producer combining dusty, laid-back and soulful hip hop aesthetic with hard-hitting deep, soulful style house and garage. In 2013 he played at festivals such as Dimensions Festival and is selected as one to watch for 2014 with a series of collaborations in the pipeline.

Also turning in a set for Room One is Latmun has garnered massive support having gained recognition from a series of releases over the past few months. Specialising in ridiculously big bass lines, Latmun has successfully mastered the art of blending weighty Techno & House & making the transition as seamless as it is effective. With releases on Eton Messy & Plus Recordings, If his forthcoming material is anything like his mixing skills, expect a set seeped in exclusives & specials from this Nottingham based producer.

Of course Room Two will be serving up some quality tunes too ad Hear Other Sounds and Riz La Teef will be joining forces for a label takeover.

Established in 2012 with clear remit – Clear Sounds releases quality unsigned music that didn't always stick to the formula of modern club music. Since its inception the label have released a wide variety of music from Ben Hauke's experimental sound scape La La La, to the emotive 2-step vibes of J-One and DJD.

Winter 2014 sees the release of their 9th EP after building a solid back catalogue of releases. Expect a wide scope of Tech and Bass with Garage & Grime blended in for good measure as we invite the collective along for the a special label takeover.
