FREE GIG! The Gentle Scars, Dead Raze, Sheepy and Turbulent 3 @ The Salty Dog Northwich - Saturday 29 November 2025

The Gentle Scars are long established musical giants from Merseyside. A band who provide some of the greatest vocal melodies you’ve ever heard sitting ontop of a dirty glam oozing post punk powerhouse of a band.'In an ideal world, The Gentle Scars would be a massive band who’ve by now gone rubbish and irrelevant, like famous bands are wont to do. Instead, they remain Liverpool’s dirty little secret, playing with an energy bands half their age lack, with a sound that has more in common with Hanoi Rocks and New York Dolls than Merseybeat. As they sing in one of their best tunes, their music inhabits a different world – a “Mondo Trasho”.' - Last Stop

Dead Raze have been all over Europe and recently supported the Saw Doctors. They bring to Northwich their dark bluesy punk with smatterings of MC5 and Stooges influences and a raw primal excitement every time they play. Their energetic swamp stomping punk can leave you breathless.

Review from RGM: 'Their caustic primitive sound manages to fill the large room at Rock City with a caustic sounding primitive wave of noise. Songs like ‘Devil Smile’ show off the bands wry sense of humour, ‘Early In The Morning’ has the audience (which is starting to get packed) joining in whilst last track Big Boom hits up an insistent slide guitar riff with amphetamine drums and a musical descent into savagery that suggests there’s a lot more to come from this duo.'

For our Third Band on Saturday 29 November at The Salty Dog we’re really pleased to announce Sheepy. Frontman Luke promises a special solo incarnation of the band that mixes raw electric guitar with loops and creates a new take on the bands vibrant live sound.

Sheepy have been dormant for a while now and this special gig is a first in the Northwest for the outfit in a long time. Expect eclectic 60s rock mixed with frantic 90s melodic punk, expect the unexpected.

From a previous review of the band:

“Sheepy provide a tour-de force tonight. This is a top band on top form. Songs leap at you, guitars blazing, bass thumping and drums like thunder, add the multi vocal backing harmonies and it's in some ways perfect pop punk. They leave little time between songs to assimilate it all, there’s a huge back catalogue and they get through a lot of tracks. You don’t get straightforward pop punk though, Sheepy deviate frequently, they turn that genre upside down with darker and more brooding material, the pace slows often and then suddenly they are off a full tilt again. Some of the weapons they have in their musical armoury are their ability to write class songs, sheer talent on their instruments and singer Lukes ability to condense complicated life issues into simple and straightforward lyrics that are intense. Add to this the lead guitar from Villy who somehow can sound sinister in the most bright and poppy of moments. This adds depth to their sonic creation and its a musical machine that an assault you head on one minute at 100mph and then turn on a sixpence in another direction.”

Our fourth band announcement for FREE GIG at The Salty Dog on Saturday 29th November 2025 is CHINESE JUNKHailing from the edges of London, Chinese Junk are the self proclaimed ‘Kings of Pound Shop Rock’. They’ve been delivering their low budget, high action brand of fast and trashy garage punk songs since 2020. Influenced by the Ramones and Rip Off Records bands like The Zodiac Killers and Loli and The Chones. They sing short, ultra catchy songs about dead end jobs, dead end towns, taking things back to the pound shop and wanting your head in a plastic bag. They’ve released a few EP’s, a full LP on US label, Big Neck Records and are hot on the heels of their latest release: a split LP with yank garage punk legends, Gino and The Goons and we've caught them in the middle of a UK tour!

Our 5th and final band announcement for our FREE GIG on Saturday 29 November at The Salty Dog Northwich is Turbulent 3
Quirky, wrathful, angsty politically charged folk punk with a sound that is like The Fall meets Half Man Half Biscuit. Throw in some Captain Beefheart references, run over those references with a train, recycle it all and start again. Taking the powers that be head on with emotional lyrics that define where they are in the world and what they stand for. With an honesty rare in the world, Turbulent 3.
