ABOUT MONICA

Monica Hsueh (pronounced "Shay") is an award-nominated comedian, writer, and actor, bringing sharp wit and an unflappable persona to stages across the UK.

Monica moved from Taiwan to the UK at 13 and soon realised that laughter was the key to bridging cultures and connecting with people. What began as an open-mic dare has evolved into a dynamic stage presence, defined by bold bravado, self-deprecation, razor-sharp jokes and an infectious curiosity about multicultural life.

She has performed at top venues across the country, including Backyard Comedy Club, Angel Comedy Club, The Glee Club, Komedia Brighton, and even guest-spotted at The Comedy Store.

Online, her Strong Woman sketch series has amassed millions of views, brilliantly satirising everything from sibling battles to the universal love of chicken balls.

In 2024, Monica reached the finals of multiple prestigious comedy competitions, including British Comedian of the YearLeicester Square New Comedian of the YearBath Comedy Festival New Act, and Chichester Fringe New Act.

Beyond the stage, she has taken supporting roles in Disney+ Guy Ritchie's Mob Land, in other high-profile streaming and cinema productions. She frequently speaks on panels championing the importance of diverse voices in comedy.

Monica's solo London debut - an honest, hilarious journey through identity, belonging, and becoming a strong woman - has added new dates in November and December due to popular demand.

Book now, limited seats available.
