NEWCASTLE

The Tyneside region of England is one of the better known regions of England. And Newcastle is its "spiritual" capital.

Well-known for its famous football club, Newcastle United, with its black stripes, Newcastle does offer a lot more as a city. Beginning with the iconic Angel of the North, the stunning steel relic welcoming guests into Newcastle.

Our tour of Newcastle then ends at the Quayside where another relic, the Tyne Bridge, looms large over the city.

DURHAM

The tour then continues into Durham which is 30 minutes south of Newcastle. Durham is not only a historic town but has 2 marvels of architecture that have been designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. They are; the Norman Cathedral and Durham Cathedral, built in the 11th century.

A tour of Durham will take in the following sites:

• Cathedral / castle (palace green)
• South Bailey (part of Durham University)

• Riverside walk
• City centre.
