Reverence Sound System

Reverence Sound System is a hand-built reggae/dub sound system based in Southampton, UK, playing foundation reggae from the 70’s through to current UK Dub and Steppas. We welcome you to Reggae Roots Dance part 2 and would like to introduce the special guest artists and selectas on the night:

Paul Fox

Paul Fox has been releasing music for the UK sound system scene since 1992 and has worked with many artists and producers including Danny Red, Nick Manasseh, Robert Tribulation, Michael Rose, Rod Taylor, Fullness, Dubheart, Alpha & Omega, Fullness, and more. Paul has appeared on over 50 releases across labels including Sound Business, Tribe 84, and Partial Records. His internationally recognized releases include Standing Tall (2023), The Lost Dubplates Vol. One & Two (2023), and Born Fighter (2025).

Paul will be performing a selection of his own productions, singing live through the sound system.

Ben Highness

Ben Highness was the driving force behind Highness Sound System, a Nottingham-based roots reggae/dub collective playing heavyweight sounds since the late 1990s and was the biggest reggae sound system in Nottingham for many years.

Green Lion

Green Lion from Weymouth is a reggae selector and producer who was a regular artist at Wilkswood Reggae Festival and currently has a weekly internet radio show on Real Roots Radio every Saturday.

Ben Reverence and Sassa Dread will be dropping deep roots through to current UK dubplates.
