Paradise Noir presents a dark disco for halloween at Alphabet
Friday 31st October 23:30-03:00
BODY HORROR (live)
London based hard electro / industrial ebm / post-punk perform at midnight.
Special guest DJ - Melas Zomos (Dykes of The Dark, Kindred Rats, X-Tapes) - til 3am playing the finest goth, darkwave, postpunk, EBM, dark electro.
Body Horror met by chance when three members happened to move into the same Tottenham
warehouse in 2016. Bonded by a passion for not sleeping and getting weird at techno parties,
the post-punk songs they’d been writing gradually took more and more influence from raves.
Before long they’d picked up a drum machine and a couple of synths and were pairing industrial
beats and sequenced synths with sharp guitars, demented themes and feral vocal hooks. Body
Horror found themselves at a crossroad between The Prodigy and The Birthday Party, and
having released a few singles we’ll soon see their first proper release with a self-titled EP in
2025.
This melding of the aforementioned Post-Punk influences, with Techno-inspired beats and the
rap-adjacent lyrical style hits hard and feels as fresh as anything else around right now, the
band having formed a cult-following around London for their pumping live shows. They’ve had
their praises sung on the radio waves too; legendary BBC Radio 6 presenter Steve Lamacq
describing them as "Dealing in a hard, electro based type of rhythmical post punk, a type of
savage New Order soundtrack overlayed by an unrepentant snarl”
