2024 Sandra Storrar Charity Cup

Hi my name is Tom and I’m raising money for charity, with the charity chosen being Demelza. This event is the second year in a row that it has been organised, with it last year being in memory of my mum Sandra Storrar who passed away in 2017. This year we are renaming the event. It will be now known as the ‘Sandra Storrar Charity Cup’. This decision has been taken by myself to allow us as a charity event, to be able to remember the loved ones lost of other players and people involved, whilst still remembering the roots and heritage of this event. This year we remember Sundridge Park FC Captain Sam Gaster’s grandad, John Gaster, who sadly passed away on the 4th of February 2023.
With an exciting game last year, finishing Storrar’s XI 5-3 Sundridge Park FC, we are looking to create the same atmosphere once again this year. The target for donations last year was £2000, which we fell slightly short of. This year we have the same target but intend to meet it.
Demelza’s mission as a charity, is to provide specialist care and emotional support for babies, children, young people and the whole family from diagnosis, during day to day family life, times of crisis, end of life and through bereavement.
Demelza is a charity that speaks to me personally, as they do great work in helping family’s and young people, who are going through bereavement. Having experienced this myself, it was imperative to me that Demelza was the charity of choice.
On Saturday the 4th of May, myself and my friends are set to play a football match against Sundridge Park FC, with most of the team being made up of the greenstaff, who work at Sundridge Park Golf Club. The match is being held at The Valley, Charlton F.C, with 300 spectators turning up to watch the game.
The 300 spectator slots are to be sold, in the form of tickets. As well as this, match day programmes will also be available to buy, which will hold information about the day, as you would normally find within a football programme. Also the information of any and all sponsors for the event will be within the programme too. Each ticket will be sold for £5 per ticket, with the programmes being so at £5 per programme as well.
All money raised through this page, ticket sales, programme sales and spare sponsorship money will all go to the charity.
The game is set to kick off at 12:30pm, with player and spectator parking available at the ground. When in the stadium, the stadium lounge will be accessible for spectators to buy beverages etc.
Any and all donations, of any amounts would be greatly appreciated. This is for a great cause and we would like to hit a target of £2000 raised, to go to the charity.
