Blue Sky Falling

Blue Sky Falling are an acoustic Brighton based trio performing their own brand of original songs.

This will be only their 5th gig, having started out started out with an eclectic range of covers, stripping the songs down and rearranging them to suit their own style - many of which you would barely recognise until half way through the song.

The reaction they received after these first few gigs gave them confidence to start writing their own material and the majority of their set now contains original songs written in the last 9 months or so following a gig in April 2023 at the Hope and Ruin in Brighton.

Their musical backgrounds influences are wide-from Opera to Talking Heads. New songs include such titles as “ Voice of Reason”, ”Take a little time before you answer” Did you forget about Love?” and “I never wanted to marry Antoinette”

Melodie is a professional Opera singer having performed since 2017 with London company Opera Holland Park but she also leads a number of outreach performances and workshops, working with a broad spectrum, including young children, adults with profound disabilities and dementia patients. Melodie also heads up another Brighton band - Itchy Fingers, with their classics rock covers. With Blue Sky Falling, Melodie is turning her hand to a more unplugged style of rock.

Stewart and Del have performed in various Brighton bands over the years, Stewart has also recorded a number of albums of his original material, but for the first time are honing in on their vocal harmony skills for Blue Sky Falling’s individual style of music and performance. How to describe it, they don’t really know, you’d have to come along and experience them for yourself.

Support for this performance is provided by Layla Terry an up and coming local singer-songwriter, who currently trains at the Institute for Contemporary Theatre.
