Literature Arts & Crafts Workshop

Ever wish you could step into your favourite storybook and explore a new world? We're blending crafting with literature in a book lovers' activity, where you'll make fun DIY trinkets that celebrate beloved stories. It's a memorable crafternoon with a variety of book-themed crafts to choose from, letting you jump in and out as you like. Options include quote canvases and Harry Potter wand-making, catering to crafters of all skill levels.

What to Expect

• A 1.5 hour workshop to experiment and make your own collection
• Materials are all provided
• Session will be supervised by the YMCA team
• Suitable for all ages 

About the Venue

YMCA North Staffordshire is located on Harding Road, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 3AE.

Wheelchair Access: The ground floor is fully accessible

Toilets: An accessible toilet and general toilets are available onsite.

Parking: Onsite parking is available for event guests, including Blue Badge spaces. Please register your car registration plate on arrival.

Additional Support: Assistance dogs are welcome.

Public transport links: The venue is a 12-minute walk from Hanley Bus Station, which is served by a wide range of First Potteries and D&G routes. The nearest railway station is Stoke-on-Trent, around 1.5 miles away. It's about 10 minutes by taxi or bus (Routes: 9, 23,24,25) or a pleasant stroll through Hanley Park is 17 minutes.

We break down barriers to participation, champion books, inspire creativity and create opportunities for residents and visitors to connect with literature, learning and culture.

By bringing together national and local talent, schools, libraries, businesses and communities, our goal is to improve engagement with reading and support youth literacy development in Stoke-on-Trent.
