HiFidelity : Ibiza Sessions : Bushwacka! and Friends

After our sellout first birthday, HiFidelity is excited to announce Bushwacka is headlining our "Ibiza Sessions" special. We'll be curating both rooms at Move and moving this event from our traditional Wednesday slot to Saturday night, giving everyone the chance for an end of week blowout!

♠ Bushwacka! ♠

It is fair to say that Matthew Bushwacka is one of the most important DJs and producers to have come from the UK. A key player in the acid house explosion of the 80s, he formed a long term and seminal studio and booth partnership with Layo, turning out many club hits and essential DJ sets as a result. Now also working as Just Be on a solo career, Bushwacka is still synonymous with an essential tech house club sound. His roots are in the illegal warehouse scene – something that is reflected in the raw sounds he offers up, as well as other influences like techno, house and breaks. 

Over the course of his career, he has enjoyed some much talked about residencies at venues such as The End in London, where he was a vital part of the club’s output for no fewer than 14 years. In club terms he is a regular at the best of the best, from DC10 in Ibiza to the cult Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert where he has played a memorable sunrise set at Robot Heart. More recently, Layo and Bushwacka have released the mix alubm Global Underground 33: Rio, born out of their love for Brasil and its music, which reveals the impressive depths of both DJs' record collections. Bushwacka's own label Olmeto continues to be a reliable bastion of quality releases in the world of tech house, and Bushwacka continues to be in demand for DJ sets worldwide.

BBC Introducing Devon's January 2016 DJ/Producer of the month, and co-founder of HiFidelity, is back once again (for the renegade master). Recently, he's been hard at work producing everything from Deep House to dirty UKBass, and is currently in the studio working on new material with the likes of Duplex Sound, Russian Grime artist i1, and Devon heavyweights Samuel Wulf and Zane T. Expect some first playouts, as well as Theon's notorious DGAF style of mixing that has seen him build some serious attention online in 2015.

The “Pie Thon” has been a long time favorite here at HiFidelity. With a massive library spanning across many different genres, no set is ever the same. Having spent the last term as the head resident of new club night Don’t Walk, Boogie!! expect to hear some disco and funk inspired sounds fused with his trademark deep melodies.
