Lukas Creswell-Rost + Emaline Delapaix

Two Berlin based songwriters take a stop through Leeds… 

Lukas Creswell-Rost was born in Leeds, in fact just down the road from the Hyde Park Book Club. And having moved to Berlin a decade ago he has never really left that part of home behind. A certain English sensibility and melancholy is never too far away, albeit wrapped around numerous other influences and textures. His music "crosses all sorts of genres; a bit pastoral-psych, a bit prog, a bit folk, a bit cinematic" (Stuart Maconie, BBC 6 Music). And is "a combination of modern psychedelia, dreamy pop and contemporary digi-folk which clearly comes from the heart" (Team Rock Magazine) - but at the end of the day, he is just trying to make songs. Live, his show is centred around his atmospheric guitar playing, voice and occasional drum machines.

emaline delapaix is an Australian singer, composer and musician who lives in Berlin Germany with her big orange Canadian cat Reece. She writes emotional and gently-joyful folk pop on piano, acoustic guitar and baby celtic harp. Some say she sounds a little like Kate Bush or Tori Amos, but she also loves a lot of Scandinavian music: music that invokes the weather like storms and warm sunsets. Emaline's lyrics explore the human condition and thought provoking topics such as mental health, feminism, the human condition as well as nature, animal rights and adventure out on the open road.
