There are a few things that are certain in life.
The obvious death, taxes and the continual existence of at least one Rolling Stone.
But nothing is more certain than the clamour for and the subsequent delivery of the 'High School Movie'.
Ever since Hollywood noticed that teenagers were swiping mom and dad's car keys, grabbing a date and getting fresh at the drive in, they've seen the worth in singing to the choir and focused on the very things that school kids knew as well as they knew the insults on the locker doors.
High School.
And all it's cliches and trappings.
From Blackboard Jungle and Rebel Without a Cause in the 50s, through the 60s fodder of Bye Bye Birdie and Beach Party, to the 70s and American Graffiti and Grease, along to the John Hughes created landscape of the 80s with The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, into the 90s boom of Clueless and American Pie, around the noughties splendour of Mean Girls and Bring it On, right up to the 10's with its offerings of Love, Simon and Booksmart...
And it shows no signs of stopping, with the 2020s already giving us Bottoms, Spontaneous and Words on Bathrooms Walls.
And so many of them are very very very good!
