Route highlights: The ride takes in the sights of Salford city centre before following the River Irwell and the scenic Crescent pathway. Riders will enjoy a brilliant mix of urban landmarks, waterside views and peaceful green spaces along the way.
Start and finish: Sacred Trinity Church, Chapel Street, Salford, M3 5DW. This is a circular route.
Distance: Approximately 7 miles (11 km).
Terrain: A mixture of on-road and traffic-free sections, canal towpaths and asphalt surfaces. Some sections may be uneven, so participants must use a cycle suitable for mixed terrain.
Accessibility: The route is suitable for cycles up to 90 cm wide.
Age requirement: Riders must be aged 14 or over. Children under 14 may participate only as passengers in a suitable, correctly fitted child bike seat, accompanied by a responsible adult.
Difficulty: Suitable for riders who can confidently control their cycle and complete approximately 7 miles over mixed terrain.
Estimated ride time: Approximately 50–60 minutes, depending on the group’s pace, traffic, crossings and path conditions.
Bikes: Participants must bring their own roadworthy, fully working bike that is suitable for the route’s mixed terrain.
