As Freya Ridings prepares to embark on her sold-out headline tour next week, including a SOLD OUT show at The Wardrobe Leeds
- she continues to become the most hotly tipped British artist of 2019
with the announcement of her largest headline tour to date for 2019,
coming to Leeds University Union Events on 8th March.
It’s been an incredible year for the North London, 24-year old, who is fast
becoming the most hotly tipped artist for 2019, since her single ‘Lost
Without You’ hit Number 9 in the Official Chart. A hymn to lost love and
regret, the single has now had over 50 million streams, it’s been added
to BBC Radio 1 playlist, played by Capital FM, Heart, Smooth FM and
Bauer network and she’s the No.1 artist in the Independent singles and
Shazam chart. The last time a female artist hit the Top 10 with a song
100% written by themselves was in 2012 with a re-charting of Kate Bush’s
‘Running Up That Hill’.
Freya’s rising success is testament to an artist that has been touring relentlessly over the past couple of
years, selling out venues in the US and UK, playing festivals,
constantly writing and releasing music for her fans through Good
Soldier. ‘Lost Without You’, alongside other stand-out tracks
‘Ultraviolet’, ‘Blackout’ and her spine-tingling cover of the Yeah Yeah
Yeah’s ‘Maps’ has now catapulted Freya’s monthly listeners on Spotify to
over 2 million. Plus, Freya’s live album ‘Live at Omeara’ released
earlier this year has now been the #1 Alternative album on iTunes for 3
consecutive weeks.
