Austrian producer and Flying Lotus associate Oliver Johnson aka Dorian Concept brings his synthesised jazz funk to Fiddlers with fellow BRAINFEEDER records artist Jameszoo.
Taking inspiration from ‘60s jazz, ‘70s fusion, ‘80s neo prog-rock and ‘90s
electronica, Dorian Concept has replicated “modern” music elements with
old-fashioned methods on his latest release ‘The Nature of Imitation’,
manifesting in “his most expensive, complex and personable record to
date” (Resident Advisor).
Completing this double bill is Dutch
producer Van Dinther known for his “startling hybrid of G-Funk and
chiptune” (Pitchfork) amongst explorations of avant-garde, electronic
jazz under the alias Jameszoo.
Both signed to the independent
L.A. jazz electronic music label Brainfeeder, expect a rhythmically
intense night of soulful, funk-laiden, synthesizer jazz “steeped in the
progressive songcraft that Brainfeeder is renowned for.” (Crack)
