Outsider Art Fest’22
After a sold out Outsider Art Fest’21 we’re back bigger than ever in the place that it all started, Hootanannys.
Our headliners Gravelle (pronounced like the dirt) are uprising from the D.I.Y. underground music scene, GRAVELLE have come of age. Hypertense, hypnotic, dark and vitriolic, their primitive sound that is strongly bending genres, proposes a great deal of mystery, making them somewhat difficult to define. Taking a rather theatre-driven approach to new music, GRAVELLE’S guitar and synthesizer fight as often collaborate, allowing dark thunderous dance grooves to thus exist.
Also playing are Glasgow based riff makers Megalomatic who describe themselves as Powerful, progressive, face melting riffs packed full of passion and controlled emotion.
Also playing are local duo The Dihydro, local legend The Vandal, Teose who like to play some good songs about a bad time, Everyday Pharaohs who like us all are just trying their best, and opening the evening are the new kids on the scene but what a start they’ve had The Clampdown.
Comedy also returns in the form of local boi done good Eddy Mackenzie who has not only just finished a jam pack schedule at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe but has also appeared on Would I Lie To You hosted by Jimmy Carr, All Round To Mrs Browns and 2021’s BBC New Comedy Awards. Alongside we also have more local talent in the form of Kieran Lochore.
Displaying there art this year we have Aberdeen’s very own Alt Ruin Clothing alongside local artist CreateDM.
